We Brits are massive tea drinkers, we can also ‘sup’ a cup or two of coffee to kick start us into action.
Trouble is tea is one of those great antioxidant drinks with all it’s super-food qualities, while coffee has the bang to get you through the day. So which do you choose, coffee or tea, one or the other is the usual choice.
Not any more! Some bright sparks from the University of Maryland (USA) have mixed coffee and tea together. Yes, coffee and tea, together! I know, it has Northern overtures of ‘garlic bread’ (ala Peter Kay) but all the same that’s what these guys have done – coffee and tea together! In one drink, the same brew!
The quest to combine the boost of coffee with the health benefits of tea is tougher to achieve than you think. There’s more to it than simply taking a cup of hot water dropping in a Tea Bag and a spoonful of coffee, apparently they tried that and it tastes disgusting. It took a tremendous amount of professional-grade blending of coffees, teas, and superfoods to get it right.
The guys eventually ‘cracked it’ and came up with a range of products under the brand Javazen. Javazen claims to provide all the benefits of a strong coffee without the side effects , such as acidity, jitters and caffeine crashes, whilst also harnessing the rejuvenating qualities and nutritional benefits of tea.
Available online in 3 varieties – Boost, Balance and Relax, Javazen may be the answer to all those coffee guzzlers dreams and help wake up the tea drinkers of the world to the hi octaine speed of coffee. Who knows it may catch on, I wonder if it’s good for dunking Hobnobs? 🙂
