You come across some items around the web that make you stop and say “DOH it’s so obvious why didn’t I think of that!”. The Bambleu by designer James Stumpf is just one of those items.
How many times when cooking to you spend shuffling chopped ingredients into your hand or trying to get a square edge chopping board to deliver your finely chopped onions into the pan? If you’re anything like me you end up with half of them either on the floor, scattered around the hob or both.
The Bambleu is the amazingly simple solution to end all those issues. Described as the 4-1 chopping folding cutting board, the Bambleu not only folds in half so you can slide your ingredients into the pan, but also folds in half flat to provide a smaller chopping board surface. Ok they’re stretching the 4-1 thing somewhat, although you can use it to crush garlic and it does fold away to make it easier to store too, so maybe it is actually 4-1.
Hey I don’t care if it’s truly 4-1 the simple fact is this chopping board is the easiest and most stylish solution to getting ingredients from the chopping board to the pan. That’s enough for me, the perfect chopping board and delivery system every time.
I can’t help but wonder why anyone hasn’t done this before it’s so simple and so very obvious. One slight draw back is, the Bambleu is currently on sale on Amazon for $49.50 plus shipping which makes it well over £40 for us Brits. Ok if you’re a big chopper (so to speak) and love the perfect fusion of style and functionality then the Bambleu is for you.
For me, I’m off to the garage to find a few bits of scaffolding plank and a piano hinge 🙂
