If you’re anything like me you like your room to be nice and warm. If your house has a radiators you’ll probably have realised that a lot of the heat goes toward the wall and up towards the ceiling, not so great when you need to keep your feet warm.
Here are two simple and cost effective solutions that could save a fortune and really super charge the heat in your room.
The first is a very low cost solution –SuperFOIL RadPack
British based BHF Unlimited SuperFOIL RadPack is a simple easy to use radiator reflector foil. All you need to do is cut it to the size of your radiators, cut a couple of slots were the radiator hangers are situated and slide it behind the radiator. No need for the radiator to be removed.
- Heat is reflected back into the room
- Lose less heat through the wall.
- Helps to reduce heat loss saving you money.
- Easily cut with scissors or a knife.
- Flexible and easy to install.
It really works too. If you have uninsulated solid wall you can expect to save £4 per year per 0.6sq metre radiator. More heat in the room less heat lost to the wall.
The next simple and easy to install solution is the Radfan Classic – Low Power Radiator Fan
This British designed superb heat boosting gadget is a no brainer if you have radiators. Using a super quiet energy efficient fan costing little more than £2 per year to run, the warmth from your radiator is blown into the room rather than lapping up the walls and into the ceiling space.
The radiator fan simply sits on top of the radiator secured by magnets. Plug it in and forget it, the rest is done for you.
If your radiator is under a window it will help stop the 35% of heat being lost through the window, saving you a packet each year!
The Radfan had been independently verified to help you feel warmer and save energy by Salford University funded by the Department of Energy and Climate Change.
